Besieged by orange and grapefruit growers in Texas and California to produce a quality Fruit Testing Knife that would stand-up to hard professional use, I developed the A.G. Russell Airweight Fruit Knife. This has been an extremely popular knife, in both black and coral, with those fruit growers as well as with other A.G. Russell customers. We are searching for a suitable handle material in a color other than black, but currently the knife is available only in black.
Features a 4-1/4" long spey blade of ATS-34 high carbon stainless tool steel at 59-61 Rc. and a liner-less, shadow pattern handle of Black Rucarta . This is a hard working tool for the professional. It is also a wonderful knife for those who camp; ready to slice bacon, peel apples, etc. Measures 5-1/2" closed and weighs 2.0 oz. Made in the U.S.A.

We have re-designed the Hunter Scalpel making it a miniature of the full sized Deer Hunter, which has a 4" blade. The same Thumbolt® sheath design patented by Blackie Collins and assigned to A. G. Russell™ Knives is used by both these knives as well as the A. G. Russell™ Bird & Trout.
The Ultralight™ series, which Al Mar Knives began producing several years before Al died, made use of a concept that W. C. Davis and I pioneered in the early 1970s; a linerless phenolic resin (Micarta®) handle. This is a great way to make a strong, lightweight folding knife, the heavy weight metal of liners and bolsters is removed.
