One of my most enjoyable visits to an art museum or gallery was a visit to the Gilcrease museum in Tulsa, OK when they had a large exhibit of Charles M. Russell's sketches, notes and letters in addition to many of his paintings. The things that intrigued me the most were the journals and letters where he had sketched everyday scenes from the world he experienced every day. The margins of the pages were beautifully illustrated with his drawings. It must have been a wonderful event to receive a letter from Charlie Russell.
