World-renowned artist John Seerey-Lester was born in Manchester, England where he grew up with sketchbook in hand. He has painted for over 30 years, his first trip to East Africa in 1980 was a turning point in his career. It was at that point he began to paint wildlife. He combines his early fascination for historic themes with his interest in wildlife, producing images of the golden age of the White Hunter. He has received many awards and much recognition in the field of wildlife art and conservation and he has exhibited at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, the Gilcrease Museum, and the National Museum of Wildlife Art. His paintings are in private collections around the world.
