Handcrafted from original Indian Head one-cent coins that were designed by James Barton Longacre, the Engraver at the Philadelphia Mint, this accessory makes a statement. Produced by the U.S. Mint from 1859 – 1909, the coin shows UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, an Indian wearing a feather bonnet with the word LIBERTY across the band and of course, the year of production. The reverse side shows the U.S. seal atop a laurel or oak wreath and ONE CENT mark. Originally minted with mostly copper and nickel, it was eventually made of a bronze alloy. Records indicate production of the Indian Head penny was 1,849,648,000 pieces. Cuff links may not be matching year. Wear a piece of history.
