Gary Johnson has been painting wildlife and landscapes since 1993 and has participated in numerous juried competitions including Arts for the Parks Mini Top 100 in 2005, where he received the Gold Medal Grand Prize, the highest honor one can receive for representational art in this country. He has exhibited at major art shows throughout the United States including the Phippen Musuem of Western Art, and Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, among others. His work has been featured in numerous fine art magazines and he is represented by fine art galleries throughout the U.S. and in Tanzania. Gary has traveled to many wild areas of the world in his quest for the unique and inspiring images he paints.
Reproduced from an original oil painting inspired by the artist's trip to East Africa, Giraffes of Samburu features two Reticulated Giraffes amongst the Acacia trees of the Samburu desert. The image measures 12" x 16" and is signed and numbered by the artist. The paper print is double matted in cream and rust using museum grade acid free materials. It is then encased in a handsome Italian-made wood frame with gold leaf gilding. The frame measures 19-3/4" x 23-3/4". A signed, dated and numbered Certificate of Authenticity is attached to the back of the frame. Weighs 4 lbs. 10.5 oz.
