The Maserin® Trigger was designed by Claudio Riboni with a very interesting locking and lock release system based on a centuries old Sicilian knife. The name comes from the lock release mechanism. To release the lock, simply press down on the lever on the obverse side of the handle, and the blade is released.

Maserin® first introduced the Starlight in an upscale version with a stainless Damascus blade, Mokume' bolsters and rare exotic wood scales. The design came from Italian knifemaker Salvatore Puddu who exhibited at his first C.I.C. Knife Show in Milan in 2000, and promptly won Best-of-the-Show the following year for his Three Blade Lockback. It's really no surprise that these two well-known names in the Italian knife trade have teamed up.
