This unique bowl is hand carved from recycled African Leadwood. Natives of Namibia regard the Leadwood Tree as the great ancestor of all living creatures. They never pass it without paying respect. Radiocarbon dating indicates that the tree lives up to 2,000 years and often remains standing for years after it dies.

Natural weathering and years of exposure means that no two bowls will be the same. The unique character and beauty of each is obtained by careful selection of the wood, hand carving, fine sanding and the application of generous coats of natural oils. It is safe for use with food or makes a unique and rugged decorative piece. Measures approximately 20-1/2" x 10" x 4". Weighs approximately 14 pounds, which is why they call it leadwood.
