It is not even necessary to have a loop. The snap is strong enough to hold to the top of a coat pocket or many other places to which it can be attached. To release your key ring and leave the snap in place, just squeeze the sides of the bottom section and pull it apart. The snap and the spring loaded release mechanism are strong enough to support a large number of keys and keep them securely attached.
