Not a huge case, but it will hold a lot of knives or three or four pistols, depending on their size. The big advantage is that your guns or knives will not be layered on top of each other, therefore much easier to access.

It occurred to me that many of you would also be interested in what the Airgun Letter called "The world's most accurate BB gun." This is indeed a very, VERY accurate BB gun. It helps of course that it is furnished with really great sights; a globe front sight, and a fine target peep sight at the rear. This is a single shot lever cocking gun that loads from the muzzle. The accuracy is enhanced by the use of specially ground shot. This shot is finished to 0.0002 inch, that is about 1/10 of the slack in the normal steel shot available for regular BB guns.

There are a pair of these in my pickup and I use them often. Soft goat skin is supple enough for shooting or driving. Today, mine get used a lot more for driving than for shooting but I find that they work well for both.
