The solar cell charges two AA rechargeable alkaline batteries (included) which power the display on the desktop unit, or you can flip a switch to run it on two standard AA alkaline batteries (not included). The wireless unit rests quietly and unobtrusively on your desk, countertop or wall and displays both indoor and outdoor temperature with minimum and maximum records in °F, indoor and outdoor humidity, and the time. The outdoor rated sensor will transmit outdoor temperature and humidity up to 200 feet. It is powered by a solar charged, built-in alkaline power cell which cannot be replaced.
