In 1903, outdoorsman Stormy Kromer wanted something more than a sailors watch cap for winter wear in the Northern Tier. The weather in those winters often reached far below -20° and sometimes below -40°. Stormy wanted something that would give him cover for his eyes and especially for his ears. After many trials he settled on the design that made him famous throughout the north country. Loggers, farmers, hunters, everybody who could afford one, wore the Stormy Kromer Caps. After nearly a hundred years offshore competition and a decline in the family drove the little company out of business. It was not long though until a fresh young entrepreneur restarted the company to once more make in America this remarkable American cap.
The low-profile cap with a six-panel crown stays on your head in windy winter weather. It is crafted of a warm, soft wool blend that's preshrunk for a consistently perfect fit. Dry clean only. Weighs 3.8 oz.
