The PUMA brand has been in existence since 1769, and for nearly 200 years they made many fine blades. During the period of time between WWII and 1986 when Baron Oswald von Frankenberg joined the company, their focus shifted, to making strictly quality hunting, fishing and outdoor knives. In 1986 the death of the Baron led to the sale of the company. It has changed hands many times since then, with each new owner trying, but not quite succeeding, to make the same quality as made before the company changed hands after the Baron's death. These few knives that we have on hand spent over 10 years in an Australian warehouse before we bought them in the mid-1990s. These were made at the peak of PUMA quality. The packaging is the famous green and yellow plastic boxes with foam insert, original papers and Rockwell testing mark. Made in Germany.
